LNG Carrier Conversion to FSRUs
Conversion of 3 LNG Carriers to FSRUs in Emerging Markets
GasEntec Scope: GasEntec converted three LNG carriers into floating terminals for a JV between Karpowership, the largest floating power company in the world, and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines. They are providing the fuel for crucial floating power plants that can be deployed globally.
The FSRUs can store between 125,000m3 and 145,000m3 of LNG. The final one includes an innovation of modular regasification that can be expanded (or reduced) by means of a crane at site installing or removing a RegasTainer™.
These FSRUs are now operating in Senegal, Brazil, and Mozambique, supplying vital fuel that is powering these markets.
