GasEntec - Advancing Jordan’s LNG Infrastructure and Energy Security

GasEntec is honored to support the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in advancing its energy infrastructure through the expansion of the Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal in Aqaba — a key pillar in Jordan’s long-term strategy to ensure a sustainable and resilient energy system.

During a recent site visit, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh and senior representatives from the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) and Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) reviewed ongoing progress at the facility. The project, expected to be completed within 22 months and enter service in September 2026, is designed to enhance Jordan’s ability to import and utilize LNG for both power generation and industrial applications.

The expansion includes:

  • Construction of a new onshore regasification unit (ORU) with a capacity of up to 700 million cubic feet per day.
  • Replacement of the current floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) with a modern floating storage unit (FSU) to improve operational efficiency.
  • Enhanced flexibility to ensure uninterrupted energy supply in the event of disruptions from existing sources.

GasEntec’s role in this critical national project centers on the engineering and technical delivery of the LNG regasification systems and floating infrastructure—leveraging our decades of experience in FSRU conversion, modular regasification, and LNG terminal design.

This initiative underscores GasEntec’s continued commitment to helping nations secure their energy future through practical, scalable LNG infrastructure that supports the global energy transition.
